Girls Flag Football 2024 - Fall 2024

Girls Flag Football is for 5th and 6th Grade Girls only.

Season will run from October 6th - November 3rd. Girls will play a Super Bowl game on November 3rd at Spartan Stadium. Regular season games will be played on Sunday afternoons or during the weekday to not conflict with other sports obligations (most likely at MBJH or MBE). Practices will be optional and at the discretion of the coaches.  Emphasis will be on throwing, catching, participation, game plans, and most importantly having a good time. 

Cost: $95

Fall Baseball - 2024 - Fall 2024

Season: Practices are tentatively scheduled to begin week of August 19th.  First games are scheduled for Sunday, September 8th. Games for 1st-6th grades will tentatively conclude the week of October 13th. Pre-K and K leagues will generally have games in that time frame as well.

Leagues:

Pre-K -- T-ball

K -- coach pitch

1st grade - coach pitch

2nd grade - coach pitch

3rd & 4th grade - player pitch

5th & 6th grade -- player pitch

Teams:

The numbers of players will determine the number of teams for each league.

Games:

Each team will play approximately seven games (Pre-K and K will play less). Games will be held primarily on Sunday afternoons with the exception of a few Tuesday/Thursday games. Games will have a one hour and fifteen minute time limit (5th and 6th grade will be one hour and a half). All 1st-6th grade games will be held at the MBHS Athletic Complex. Plan is to play the K games at the MBHS Athletic Complex also.  Pre-K T-Ball games will be played at Cherokee Bend.

Practices:

Practices will be held once a week at the MBHS Athletic Complex with most practices being on Tuesday or Thursday for grades 1st-6th. Pre-K and K practice location and practice day TBA.

Fall baseball will be strictly a recreational league with an emphasis placed on building skills. No individual statistics or team standings will be kept. Players will receive a jersey and a hat to keep.

Fee - $125 1st-6th, $110 Pre-K & K

Cheerleading - 2024 - Fall 2024

Junior Spartan Cheerleading is a youth program for all girls entering 2nd-5th grades. Junior Spartan Cheerleading focuses on learning proper motion techniques, cheers, chants and having fun with friends. We will cheer for the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade MBA football programs.

Cheerleading required uniforms will be the same as last year. Cost of a new uniform is in addition to the cheerleading registration fee. If you need or want to order your uniform, please order from Over The Mountain Sporting Goods in Crestline using the link below. There is a sizing chart but if anyone wants to try the uniform on, they have samples at the store in Crestline. All orders must be made through the cheer store even if you go in and try the uniform on. If needed, poms can be ordered as well. Buying a new uniform is not mandatory. You are welcome to wear the same uniform as last year. Orders must be received by July 20th to ensure that the uniforms arrive on time for the start of the season.

The HS Cheer Clinic is TBA. Specific dates & times will be sent out as we get closer to the clinic. 

Football season will run from mid-August until November 3rd. Cheerleading practice is flexible and will be based on each squad's availability. 

Each squad will need a team mom. Please register as a team mom if you are interested!

Tackle Football - 2024 - Fall 2024

Tackle Football with MBA is for 3rd-6th graders. The season runs from mid-late August until early November.

Mandatory Player Evaluation/Assessment -  Info will be listed on your registration confirmation email.

Guardian helmet covers (Provided by MBA) will be worn for all practices and games.

Selection of teams will be made and players will be notified by August 18th for boys playing contact. Team practices can begin when the commissioner gives the okay.

Practices and scrimmages will be up to a maximum of ninety minutes in length. Players must bring their own water/hydration to practices. Teams may practice from August 19th - September 6th with a maximum of three events per week including games. After the first game, each team will be limited to three events per week unless that number is modified by MBA. Practices are scheduled by the coaches and they will have the freedom to schedule practices on Saturday or Sunday, though most practices will take place Monday-Friday.

The league will play at either Crestline Elementary, Mountain Brook Elementary, MBHS Spartan Stadium, MBHS Baseball field, MBJH, or the JCC. Games will be during the week and on Saturdays. There will be a Super Bowl in all four (4) leagues to complete the season. In all leagues (Except Flag Football) there will be a playoff to determine the Super Bowl participants for November 3rd.

Fall Flag Football - 2024 - Fall 2024

Fall Flag Football is for 2nd graders only.

Season will begin on September 9.  Games (most likely at Crestline) will be played during the week mainly on Mon.’s & Wed.’s with possible make-up games on the weekend.  Weekday game times are scheduled at 4:30 or later. Emphasis will be on participation, throwing, and catching.  

Cost: $115

Fall Softball - 2024 - Fall 2024

Season:

Practices will begin in late Aug. First games will likely begin in mid-Sept. Games are scheduled to conclude around the end of Oct.

Leagues:

K (6U) - Coach pitch 

1st - 3rd grades (8U) -- Coach pitch

3rd - 5th grades (10U) -- Player pitch

5th - 7th grades (12U) -- Player pitch

Teams:

Games:

Five to seven games held primarily on Sun. afternoons with a one hour and fifteen minute time limit. Games will be played at MBHS and possibly at other parks (Vestavia, etc...)

Practices:

Practices will be held mainly during the week.  Practice days and times are TBA and may vary.  All practices will be held at the MBHS Athletic Complex.  

 Fall softball will be a recreational league with an emphasis placed on building skills. No individual statistics or team standings will be kept. Players will receive a jersey and a pair of socks to keep.

When registering, please be sure to fill out the question when asked if your player has any practice conflicts. Once your child is placed on a team, we will not switch them.

Basketball - 2024 - Winter 2024

Season will run from Nov. through the middle of Feb.  First practices will begin for elementary teams on or soon after Nov. 1.  First games for some teams may take place the week of Nov. 11.  Game T-shirt jerseys will be provided for all leagues.  Players will keep their jersey.  Players will need basketball shoes and shorts.

Player evaluations are only for those elementary age (3rd - 6th grade) players that did not play MBA last year and ALL 2nd grade boys and girls.  No evaluations for 1st graders.  Player evaluations to be held in the regular Crestline gym.  Please see evaluation info in the "Basketball - Important Dates/info" section by selecting "Basketball" under Programs.

Players will be notified as to team assignment by their coach.

NO FOOD OR DRINK ALLOWED IN ANY GYM!

Fee - $190

$20 late fee (per player) will be charged for those elementary age players who register for basketball after Oct. 7th.

Wrestling - 2024 - Winter 2024

We are excited to announce Coach Ricky Korn ("Coach Ricky") and Elevate Wrestling Club will be leading this season's youth wrestling team.  Ricky has been part of the MB youth wrestling program for many years, and we're excited he and his team will be back for another year.

Regular practices will be held at the MBHS wrestling room on Tuesday's and Thursday's from 5:30-6:30 PM.  As the season progresses, other advanced training opportunities will be available.

The first practice will be on Tuesday October 29th.  If you are uncertain if your child will like wrestling, please bring them to practice before registering.  To accommodate, we will leave registration open through early November.  

Season Duration: November through early February

Fee:  $200 per wrestler

Additional costs may include AYWO registration cards, tournament fees, singlets, shoes, and gear.
