Junior Spartan Cheerleading is a youth program for all girls entering 2nd-6th grades. This year we are going to change things up a bit to make cheer more reflective of other MBA rec sports. There will be practices at least once a week and more effort will be put towards learning proper cheer technique. Mountain Brook cheerleaders will help with practices and will teach technique, cheers and chats, and cheer moms will be expected to be at practices and games.
Like other MBA sports, cheerleaders will be on teams with other girls in their grades. Our hope is that most squads will cheer for their age football teams. Obviously, 2nd grade is an exception to this since there isn’t tackle football for this age. We will not be able to accommodate sibling requests this year. The hope is that we have enough 6th grade girls sign up to cheer and this squad will rotate cheering for all the 6th grade football teams.
We have designed a new, better fitting, more comfortable cheerleading uniform this year. Cost of a new uniform is in addition to the cheerleading registration fee. If you want to order a uniform, please order from Over The Mountain Sporting Goods in Crestline using the link below. There are samples at the store in Crestline if you are unsure of your child’s size. We offered two tank options. Either is fine; just choose what fits better/which material your child prefers. All orders must be made through the cheer store. Buying a new uniform is not mandatory. You are welcome to wear the same uniform as last year. Be sure to check the store out as there are lots of cute offerings this year!
Orders must be received by July 27th to ensure that the uniforms arrive on time for the start of the season.

We will have a cheer clinic before the season starts. This will be done by grade levels and the Mountain Brook cheerleaders will help with this. Specific dates & times will be sent out as we get closer to the clinic.
Football season will run from mid-August until end of October/beginning of November.
Each squad will need a cheer mom. Please register if you are interested!
