Anyone who has ever played on a team with Patrick Sprague - whether it was football, baseball, basketball, etc. - can attest to the fact that he is the model of sportsmanship. Sprague brought a winning attitude to every team on which he was a member, and that attitude was definitely contagious. He was a vital part of the Mountain Brook Spartans 2002 football team that finished 13-1 and a state semi-final berth.

Patrick Sprague As a Spartan, Sprague earned All-metro honors and second team All-state honors as a senior, as he saw time not only as a gifted receiver, but at quarterback and placekicker as well. He went on to start at receiver for three years at Furman University where he again spread his winning attitude to his teammates. Furman captured a Southern Conference championship in 2004 with the help of Sprague's sure hands and positive leadership.

Sprague said his time spent playing sports in Mountain Brook Athletics help shape that champion's aura he brings to each team. "I had a wonderful experience playing sports in Mountain Brook," Sprague said. "I would argue that there is not a more organized or knowledgeable group of coaches and administrators in the country."

He said he has many positive memories from playing in MBA leagues, including playing All-stars in 6th grade baseball and winning a state championship. "Little league was an absolute blast. I think Mountain Brook did a great job incorporating competition as well as sportsmanship," Sprague said. "The best memories will always be those shared with my teammates and coaches."

Sprague put up some impressive numbers as a receiver in the collegiate ranks. He finished his career at Furman with 121 catches for 1,765 yards and 12 TD's.
